March Meeting

Hello Moms:

We had a wonderful turnout for our February meeting. Lynn McCarter shared a Bible devotion from Guideposts where a woman had made some soup for a church pot luck.  A woman who had some of the soup thought that it was so good, she called and asked if she would consider submitting the soup recipe to the church cookbook that was being put together. She went on to explain that there was “no such recipe.” She explained that she made the soup out of whatever she had on hand, and that it was never the same twice. Lynn went on to explain that that is how grief is. Everyone experiences grief. There is “no such recipe” in getting through grief. Thank you Lynn for sharing with us. We then broke out into small groups based on the cause of our child’s death. We were able to speak with other mothers whose children died in  similar ways as our own child. There is something very comforting and healing in being able to talk to other moms who have similar experiences as our own.

Our next meeting will be on March 9th.   Shauna Bessette from Proverbs Professional Counseling will present “When Grief Meets the Bible,” discussing together what helps and what hinders our grieving.

The meeting will be held at Linda Stirling’s house at 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., including lunch. We will be having a National Conference planning meeting at 9:00 a.m. – prior to the main meeting.

Linda’s address is as follows:
2261 San Juan Road
San Diego, CA 92103

Please rsvp to Linda  if you will be able to attend. We look forward to seeing you.
